Aline Olmos Steler
Aline Olmos Steler is a Brazilian theater director, clown, and performer based in Amsterdam. She holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in Performing Arts from UNICAMP (Brazil), has recently completed her second master's at DAS Theater, Amsterdam (Netherlands), and is a resident artist at Right About Now INC. (Netherlands, 2025-2027) and Mestizo Arts Platform (Belgium, 2025-2027). Her artistic practice is guided by techniques of accumulation and layering, using chaos, absurdity, and humor as forms of language.
Interested in what lies at the margins, her research explores themes such as vaginal discharge, sleep, excrement, female masturbation, the non-sexualized vulva, the fake, the false, piracy, and hacking technologies. Her work exists between popular theater and circus references, engaging in dialogue—or friction—with elements of so-called "contemporary art" and post-dramatic theater.
Her creations, often built from household materials, embrace a DIY aesthetic that brings the artist and audience closer together while questioning who gets to be an artist and who gets to be an audience in late capitalism.
As co-director of the ultraVioleta_s collective (since 2019), she creates both solo and collective works. She is currently developing the Trilogy of Satiety composed of:
Part 1 – The Rediscovery of the Future – Oracular Practices
Part 2 – In Love with a Table, I Sat on It – Masturbatory Practices
Part 3 – I Want to Be You – Practices of Cover and Piracy
